Anonymous: Tom, do you think its possible to increase diversity in comics without it seeming like a massive PR move? I love seeing different types of people in comics, but every time you guys do anything halfway decent its done along with a press release and a week of interviews making it seem like a corporate decision and not a storytelling one...

You mean like stealth diversity—we’d have a diverse cast or creative staff, but nobody would know or notice?

Why shouldn’t it be a PR move when we’re doing something like this. Part of that PR effort helps to draw forth those creators who might want to work for Marvel but don’t feel as though there’s a place for them.
